Netbooks AKA Mini Laptops
It is amazing to see how the proliferation of the notebook has happened over the last few years. It really has been remarkable. People can now use them for work or personal use and still travel almost unrestricted.
You cannot go anywhere today from airports to coffee shops without out seeing people carrying, using or working on their notebooks. Of course all the big guns in consumer electronics and the IT marketplace have build notebooks and made huge profits from them. There is obviously a big target market now and the range varies from very cheap right up to much more expensive. The major players include, Sony, ACER, HP, lenovo, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba.
However, we are now entering into a new stage of development. Notebooks have already been seen for some time as a legitimate replacement for desktop PC's but we are now witnessing what are possible replacements, or at least substitutes for laptops coming onto the market. These replacements are generally known as netbooks. Netbooks are basically cheap mini laptops and they normally have less memory and processing capabilities than their larger cousins but still offer internet access, and a windows or linux operating system. They are much lighter and easier to carry and the length of the battery life means that you don't always have to be close to a plug or worrying about when it will cut out.
At the moment the most advanced model in the P-series by Sony. These are sleek and very fashionable and would not look out of place with those of the highest style. They are very light coming in at around 638 grams yet still boasting a full size keyboard and a long battery life.
So if this make you want to think about getting a notebook, or even if you are feeling especially adventurous a netbook, then take a look around at what is available and what might suit you. I always like to have a read about what other people think about certain models before taking the plunge myself. This is easy enough to do. Once you are sure what you want shop around again to get the best deals that you can.
